Candidates

Vote-splitting clearly handed the seat to the Conservatives in the last election. In 2008, NDPer and professor Nettie Wiebe lost to the Conservative incumbent by a measly 213 votes, while the Green and Liberal candidates captured 2,404 votes between them. NDP candidate Nettie Wiebe has a clear shot at toppling the Conservative in this riding and eliminating a seat from Harper's roster.  We strongly recommend backing ex-incumbent Nettie Wiebe.

About the Riding Predictions

The riding predictions you see on Project Democracy are based on a model that uses the 2008 election results (with some exceptions noted in specific ridings) and current polling to help voters understand what the public polls probably mean in their constituency. Read more
