Candidates

This riding is affected by vote splitting between the Liberals and NDP, which allowed Conservative Tom Lukiwski to take the seat for the past two elections even though a majority of voters cast their ballot for a progressive candidate. In 2006 the Liberals and NDP competed evenly, while in 2008 the NDP had a decided advantage.   Over the course of the election the NDP have moved into strong second and represent the best chance to topple the Conservative.  We recommend supporting NDP Brian Sklar.

About the Riding Predictions

The riding predictions you see on Project Democracy are based on a model that uses the 2008 election results (with some exceptions noted in specific ridings) and current polling to help voters understand what the public polls probably mean in their constituency. Read more
