Nepean--Carleton
Only 69.4 percent voter turnout in this riding in 2008.
Riding Projections
This looks to be a safe Conservative seat even with Ryan Keon, son of the world famous heart surgeon running as the Liberal candidate against hyper partisan Pierre Poilievre.
Poilievre appears to eat PMO talking points for breakfast and spits them out in robotic fashion throughout the day; never veering off script, he is the Prime Minister's go-to guy when he needs to stonewall Parliament or attack anyone who dares to call the Harper Government to account. When Canadians say they are turned off by the behaviour they see in Parliament this guy is arguably among the worst offenders. It is a shame he would be rewarded with a return to Parliament. Unfortunately, this riding does not appear to be in play and we recommend you vote your preference.
About the Riding Predictions
The riding predictions you see on Project Democracy are based on a model that uses the 2008 election results (with some exceptions noted in specific ridings) and current polling to help voters understand what the public polls probably mean in their constituency. Read more
