Candidates

Conservative incumbent Nina Grewal won by only 828 votes in 2006, but widened that margin in 2008. Both Liberals and NDP have strong constituencies, making for a classic case where vote-splitting elects a Conservative.  It has been challenging to make a recommendation regardimg which party/candidate has the best chance to topple the Conservative front-runner.  While it will be challenging, a convergence of progressive voters could do it, and take away a seat from Harper's quest for a majority.  Based on today's polling, reflecting the NDP surge, we recommend voting for NDP Nao Fernando.

About the Riding Predictions

The riding predictions you see on Project Democracy are based on a model that uses the 2008 election results (with some exceptions noted in specific ridings) and current polling to help voters understand what the public polls probably mean in their constituency. Read more
