Dear friends across Canada,

Harper's government has fallen,the first in Canadian history to be found in contempt of Parliament. With insiders saying the opposition parties are finally willing to cooperate, this election could at last bring an end to this government's abuse of power, environmental destruction, and dismantling of democracy.

ProjectDemocracy.ca’s predictive model shows 49 Key Contest ridings in Canada that are significantly in play in terms of Conservative or non-Conservative outcomes. These show that “smart voting” benefits all the opposition parties and could have a significant effect on the election.

Canadians don’t have an electoral system that directly reflects the ballot box.  With our 'first-past-the-post' electoral system, vote splitting means Canadians could end up with a majority Harper Government with as little as 35 percent of the popular vote.  This is not the outcome most Canadians want, and avoiding it requires voter knowledge and cooperation.
